Greed
2024
Greed was featured in the surrealist Canadian publication The Oystercatcher 2024. Carousel pigs wearing jewels rooting through American dollars speak to the self-centered actions by some in power who only want to gain without concern for others.
Six photographs including carousel pigs, jewels from the Natural History Museum, dollar bills and a sky were digitally cut, blended, warped, painted, and transformed using Photoshop. The work is finalized as an archival 14” x 19” print and rematerialized into physical space.
Janice Hathaway invented and developed the transmorgraphy process over the past several decades. Hathaway transforms her photographs using Photoshop to digitally cut, blend, warp, paint, and incorporate numerous adjustment layers to achieve a unified space.
