Earthly Delight
2024
Earthly Delight was chosen by the Paris Surrealist Group for their exhibition Marvelous Utopia held at Maison André Breton in France 2024 – the centenary of the publication of the Surrealist Manifesto. The work was part of The Island of Abundance and represents the succulence and persistence of life through pollination.
Numerous photographs were used including dripping honey, honeycombs, a flower, bees, hummingbirds, a brass tea service and a teapot handle and spout. These photographs were digitally cut, blended, warped, and painted using Photoshop.
Janice Hathaway invented and developed the transmorgraphy process over the past several decades. Hathaway transforms her photographs using Photoshop to digitally cut, blend, warp, paint, and incorporate numerous adjustment layers to achieve a unified space.
