CillaVee is an interdisciplinary artist working in performative modes of installation, movement, sound, image and word. She explores themes of metamorphosis and transcendence in which the Self becomes raw material with which to create. Her process is responsive and collaborative – whether with humans, objects, nature or concept.

CillaVee has performed with the unique and eclectic arts scene of Birmingham and the surrounding areas in Alabama for many years. Her performance in the historic 2018 Fresh Dirt Surrealist Sympatica! exhibition, music and dance improvisation brought an unworldly essence to the event.
Most recently, in 2024 CillaVee performed as a new Fresh Dirt member in Echoes of Contemporary Surrealism Alabama Exhibition Opening Ceremonies & Performances. Fresh Dirt hosted this international event to commemorate 100 years of surrealism. CillaVee’s performances and her work are additionally key components of the films of Fresh Dirt member SI Reasoning. Reasoning’s films were shown at the Alabama opening as well as Echoes of Contemporary Surrealism Saint Cirq-Lapopie at the home of André Breton Maison.
