Echoes of Contemporary Surrealism Saint-Cirq-Lapopie France 2024

Fresh Dirt members Janice Hathaway and LaDonna Smith, along with Birmingham videographer and musician Si Reasoning, traveled to France for Echoes of Contemporary Surrealism Saint-Cirq-Lapopie April 14—30. They were joined by Turner Williams, also from Alabama, who lives and works in Marseille France.

This international series of events and exhibitions began in Cairo and Alexandria Egypt in 2021 and continued in Budapest Hungary, Birmingham and Eutaw Alabama. The series culminated with the event/exhibition at the André Breton Maison in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie France.

Fresh Dirt wants to thank Laurent Doucet, president of La Rose Impossible, the non-profit associated with the André Breton Maison, Sylvain Lacaze the secretary the association, Remi Guerra and Olivier Orus.

Special thanks also go to Ody Saban, Pierre Petiot and Catherine Belkhodja for their heartfelt welcome as they served as hosts to the international participants in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
